Education
At Bay View Childcare, we believe that education and emotional wellbeing go hand in hand. For many young people, past experiences can impact their ability to engage in learning, which is why we take a holistic, therapeutic approach that supports both their development and their potential.
Our homes provide an environment where young people are encouraged to re-engage with education in a way that feels safe, achievable and meaningful to them. We work closely with schools, alternative provisions, colleges and local authorities to ensure that each young person has access to the most appropriate learning pathway. This may include mainstream education, specialist settings or bespoke packages tailored to individual needs.
Therapy
Alongside this, our therapeutic model supports young people to understand their emotions, build resilience and develop positive coping strategies. Across Bay View, we utilise a range of approaches including solution-focused practice, life story work and trauma-informed care. Young people may also access additional support from in-house or external professionals such as counsellors, psychologists and specialist services where required.
Education is not just about academic achievement—it is about building confidence, independence and life skills. Staff support young people both in and beyond the classroom, helping with homework, encouraging attendance and celebrating progress, no matter how small. At the same time, therapeutic support helps young people process their experiences, develop self-awareness and build a more positive sense of identity.
By bringing together education and therapy in a consistent and supportive way, we help young people to overcome barriers, rediscover their strengths and move forward with confidence towards adulthood and independence.
Religion, Culture and Anti-Discrimination
We recognise that identity is shaped by culture, beliefs, experiences and individuality, and we actively promote understanding, acceptance and equality across all of our homes.
Enjoyment and Positive Relationships
Through positive relationships and shared experiences, we create nurturing homes where young people feel a true sense of belonging and can build confidence for their future.
Young People's Views
We recognise that having a voice is key to building confidence, independence and a sense of control, and we work hard to ensure that every young person knows their opinions matter.
