Positive Relationships
At Bay View Childcare, we believe that strong, trusting relationships are the foundation for every young person’s development and wellbeing. Many of the young people we care for may have experienced disrupted or challenging relationships, so creating safe, consistent and meaningful connections is at the heart of our work.
Our homes are built around positive relationships between young people and staff. Through warmth, consistency and genuine care, our teams create environments where young people feel safe, valued and able to be themselves. These relationships help young people to build trust, develop confidence and begin to form healthy attachments.
We also recognise the importance of maintaining relationships beyond the home. Young people are supported to stay connected with family members, friends and other important people in their lives wherever possible. These connections help to strengthen identity, promote stability and support positive outcomes for the future.
Enjoyment
We place a strong emphasis on ensuring that young people experience enjoyment, fun and a sense of belonging in their everyday lives. This includes shared routines such as mealtimes, spending time together in the home and celebrating achievements and special occasions. These moments help to create a warm, family-style environment where young people feel included and supported.
Young people are encouraged to take part in activities that reflect their interests, while also being supported to try new experiences. From hobbies and sports to social outings, holidays and community activities, these experiences help build confidence, independence and positive memories.
We recognise that enjoyment is not just about activities – it is about creating an environment where young people feel safe enough to engage, have fun and explore new opportunities. Through these experiences, young people can develop new skills, build self-esteem and form lasting, positive memories.
Education and Therapy
Our homes provide an environment where young people are encouraged to re-engage with education in a way that feels safe, achievable and meaningful to them.
Young People's Views
We recognise that having a voice is key to building confidence, independence and a sense of control, and we work hard to ensure that every young person knows their opinions matter.
Religion, Culture and Anti-Discrimination
We recognise that identity is shaped by culture, beliefs, experiences and individuality, and we actively promote understanding, acceptance and equality across all of our homes.
