Bay View Childcare believe all young people who are deemed to be challenging will be able to work towards achieving better outcomes if they are provided with a comfortable and caring environment.
Our purpose is to provide a therapeutic & nurturing environment that will enable the young people in our care to experience happier times and work
towards a brighter more prosperous future.
Through providing an extensive care package and working closely with established professionals and agencies, each young person will have the
opportunity to strive towards achieving their own personal goals and ambitions.
We support our young people to achieve their educational goals and ambitions and we work collaboratively with educational providers to ensure the needs of young people are met.
We support young people to access local work experience opportunities and have provision to support the young people moving towards and through
independence with our Annex building at Glenfield.
At Bay View Childcare we have a firm belief that all young people deserve to be supported through independence and into adult life. Once the young people have established a clear understanding of independence and been given the skills required to survive, they will then have more confidence and ability to succeed. All young people will work towards their own individual pathway plans to help them develop a positive future.
Mission Statement
“Leading the way through childhood, youth, teenage, independence and beyond to provide!”
Our Childcare Belief
Our practice is underpinned by the principles of ‘Good Parenting’. We have all experienced parenting, either by our own parents, or their substitutes or perhaps by parenting our own children. Children and young people in care also have their own parents, and residential staff should not take any actions, which would suggest that they are trying to replace them.
Clearly, there are many different examples of parenting, and the children in care will have experienced a wide range of differing approaches. This will mean that many of them will be confused about parenting. It is essential that the staff team at Bay View Childcare have an agreed and consistent approach, for each individual. Although there is a collective responsibility for parenting shared by the staff team, key workers will have particular
responsibilities for individual children. These will be set out clearly in individual care plans.
We believe that ‘Good Parenting’ is essential – it interprets the realities of the world for developing children until, as young adults, they can survive and flourish in the world by themselves.
