In a heartening display of commitment to the well-being and development of young lives, Glenfield Residential Children’s Home, part of Bay View Childcare, has proudly achieved “Outstanding in all areas” in its recent Ofsted inspection.
The remarkable achievement not only demonstrates the homes dedication to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for its young residents, but also serves as a testament to the exceptional efforts of its staff members.
Bay View Childcare provides stability and care for young people between the ages of 6-18 who experience emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Glenfield, one of Bay View’s five children’s homes, has been praised for “excellent care and support to children”, and going “above and beyond to make sure that children’s education provisions fully meet their individual needs”.
Inspectors also highlighted how young people are making “exceptional progress” and the “consistent and trusting relationships between children and staff allow children to form positive attachments”, helping young people to feel safe and secure.
Danielle Hodgson, Registered Manager of Glenfield, beamed: “To hear the words ‘you would reach for the stars for your children’ blew me away and made me feel so proud of all staff who work tirelessly for our young people. It is brilliant to be recognised in this way.”
During the inspection, Danielle had been recognised as “passionate about research-informed practice” which is incorporated into the day-to-day running of the home, and has made a significant difference to the lives of the children.
Chris Thompson, Area Manager of Bay View Childcare, congratulated: “The children and young people at Glenfield should all be immensely proud of what they have achieved during the time they have been living with us. They are a credit to us, and we are all super proud of them. The staff team should take huge credit for the love and support they show our children and young people. Outcomes for the children and young people at the home are outstanding and the staff team have high aspirations for each individual in the home.”
